Broadnook Garden Village

Project Overview

Broadnook Garden Village is a landmark sustainable development located northwest of the A46/A6 Birstall Interchange. The project will deliver approximately 1,950 new homes and 50,000 sqm of employment space, alongside a range of community facilities including allotments, sports amenities, a primary school, a care village, and a retail centre.

The Chellenge

The development required comprehensive transport and infrastructure planning to support a large-scale mixed-use community while ensuring sustainable travel options and securing approvals from multiple highway authorities.

Our Role

Working on behalf of a consortium including The Palmer-Tompkinson Trust, Cooper Family, Davidsons Developments, and Barwood Homes, we provided specialist transport and highway engineering consultancy services throughout the planning and design process.

Our responsibilities included:

Project Outcome

The planning application received unanimous approval in March 2020, allowing the development to progress into delivery. Detailed highways, drainage, and earthworks designs have since been completed, supporting contractor appointment and enabling the successful implementation of this major sustainable community.
