the devil …

is in the details. While many of our projects are strategic in scale, we also have a wealth of smaller schemes. They test expertise, as the details are to the fore. Three recent successes are good examples. We helped gain planning consent for a field access on the A6006 Melton Road in Asfordby Hill. Despite the seeming simplicity, it required three rounds of highways comments, to justify the need and geometries. We helped gain Class R consent (prior approval to convert agricultural buildings to office use) at a hamlet near Ashby de la Zouch where the surrounding roads are all narrow lanes. We undertook traffic calculations to quantify the additional traffic, and demonstrated that there were opportunities for passing. Finally, we gained technical approval for a S278 proposal consisting of three speed cushions, plastic ones to be bolted to the carriageway, required by condition to counter substandard visibility at a junction.
